Wakanda City Africa: Case Study Project

Wakanda City Africa is a sustainable smart city development in South Africa supported by satellite development hubs in ten cities in the Southern Africa Region. This regional project is a US$77 billion project whose objective is to provide catalytic economic development in the Southern Africa region of the African Union in line with the agenda for Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Being the first of the proposed five AfCFTA implementation smart cities in Africa, the Southern Africa Wakanda City is supported by a slightly smaller satellite smart city located at the Victoria falls, in Zimbabwe/Zambia. These two cities are anchored by ten development hubs across the region, comprising of aerotropolis developments including, airport upgrades, hitech agriculture programs, mixed-use real estate and trade centers. Each city and development hub shall be linked by fast rail designed to move billions in people, products and property around Souther Africa.
